Easter 2020 bringing essentials to the community

April 2020

As you may know, for the past six years Swift have coordinated the delivery of Easter eggs to children’s and geriatric wards of hospitals local to our various UK locations. Sadly, this year’s event has been overtaken by the current health crisis and, after a joint assessment with local health authorities, we have concluded that the risk of contamination is too great for this year’s event to go ahead.

So, 2020 will see us focus less on chocolate and more on the essentials. We, in conjunction with Age Concern, Newbury Racecourse *, Greenham Trust and The Fairclose Centre have developed a safe solution to ramp up the excellent work of Newbury’s Age Concern to respond to the increased needs of the most vulnerable elderly people for meals while in isolation within our community.

This year we ask not for chocolate eggs but for hard cash! £5 or £500 – it all helps! Every penny will be matched by Greenham Trust – and every penny (up to £100k) will be used directly (not on admin or wages!) to support a senior member of YOUR COMMUNITY at this time of crisis.
